The J Powers BandFountain Park, 6:30-9:30pm

Classic Rock, R&B, Blues and Motown
The drive behind this versatile band comes from the band leader and soulful vocalist - Joann Powers. Formerly from Detroit, Michigan, Joann was influenced by the Motown sound and sweet soul music. Starting her singing career at a very early age, Joann knew she wanted to be an entertainer. She served as the lead vocalist for several well-known bands (Kamage, Take Five and Starlight) in the Detroit area and surrounding suburbs. She moved to Arizona in 1985, worked with a couple of local bands, and then decided to take a short hiatus from the music scene. In 2001, she started her own band The J Powers Band and has been working ever since with some of the best musicians in town.
