As the host city of the 2015 Super Bowl, the City of Glendale had several critical missions in the successful execution of Super Bowl XLIX. A Glendale Public Arts grant allowed photographic artist, Roni Ziemba of Ziemba Photographic Arts, to capture the various roles of public safety staff at the Super Bowl and their tireless work to keep Glendale safe.
Gallery Glendale proudly presents this exhibit of more than 28 compelling images of law enforcement and firefighters from across the state of Arizona, including Glendale Police and Fire Departments. This collection allows a brief glimpse behind the yellow caution tape rarely seen by the average citizen.
“It is a great honor to create modern visual art of the men and women who risk their lives Glendale Firefighter doing live fire training each day to protect and serve our Arizona communities,” Ziemba said. “I am humbled by the sacrifice these heroes, and their families, make each day they pin on their badges.”
Westgate Entertainment District and the City of Glendale offer a free community art gallery showcasing pieces from the Municipal Collection, along with art, fitness and recreational classes. The array of classes and activities will include story time, boot camp, zumba, CPR and First Aid training, glass-fusion jewelry making, paint-along parties, youth hip hop dance and youth cheerleading.
Other upcoming programs include additional artist and collection exhibits, art shows,
