NISSAN CONCERT SERIES AT WESTGATE CONTINUES THIS WEEKEND WITH TWO MAJOR EVENTS
Weekend Events To Feature Sounds of Classic Rock, Motown
GLENDALE, ARIZONA, Monday, October 15, 2007 – This weekend, the Westgate City Center WaterDance Plaza will once again be transformed into one of Arizona’s premier concert venues, as Westgate and title sponsor Nissan host the next two events in a series of concerts featuring both national recording artists and local musical acts.
Featuring live music from a variety of genres, the Nissan Concert Series at Westgate will see bands playing concerts in the open air on the one-of-a-kind plaza, which also features a $6 million Bellagio-inspired dancing water feature (WaterDance) and a ring of “Times Square” style media boards, which tower up to 100’ over the plaza.
On Friday, October 19th, classic rock legends Kansas will play in front of the crowds at Westgate. Known for such hits as “Carry On My Wayward Son” and “Dust In The Wind,” Kansas is currently celebrating the 30 year anniversary of one of their most successful albums, the multi-platinum classic “Point Of No Return.” The opening band, B/S, a Bon Scott era AC/DC tribute band, start the festivities at 8 pm (doors will open one hour prior). Advance sales tickets range from $20.00 for General Admission to $100 for the Front Row VIP Experience including hospitality and a meet & greet with Kansas. Other tickets are available from $30 - $50 which include seating in this intimate outdoor venue.
Additionally, Nissan, the title sponsor of the concert series, is offering two FREE General Admission tickets to the Kansas concert on Friday night to anyone who test drives the all new Nissan Rogue at any Valleywide Nissan dealership this week.
The next night on Saturday, October 20th, rev up the engines as Westgate meets the Motor City! The Coyotes are facing off against the Detroit Red Wings inside the Jobing.com Arena, and the Plaza will feature the music of Motown, with acts Patte Williams and Ratio bringing the signature ‘60s dance and groove sound to the Plaza to entertain the audience. This event is free, and the music runs from 6:30 pm to midnight, with doors opening at 5:30 pm.
The Nissan Concert Series at Westgate runs from late August until mid-November. The shows are open to all ages. Food and beverage vendors will be set up on the Plaza, and those showing 21 and over ID will be given a wristband to purchase alcoholic beverages.
All shows are General Admission, however, a “Golden Circle” VIP package is available for upgraded purchase at select shows. “Golden Circle” VIP packages offer a premium seating area with its’ own private bar.
Nissan is serving as the presenting sponsor of the concert series. Already a major Westgate City Center sponsor, Nissan’s presence at Westgate includes major media signage locations, vehicles on display showcasing their product line, and sponsorship of the valet (where all Nissan vehicles get a discount and priority treatment). Further opportunities are being developed to provide additional value and benefits to Westgate’s sponsors and partners, including the Nissan Concert Series at Westgate.
